Doctor called today to say that the results from the hour test were high and that I need to come in for the three hour test. From my reading- 85% of the women who come in for the second test don’t have gd. What are your opinions? How was the second test? What is a crab load and should I do it if the doctor didn’t suggest it?
I am having the second test done. Just wondering what others thought about the process and all. Thanks.

Generally speaking, the woman is supposed to "carbo-load" for several days before a GTT. This apparently stimulates her body to produce more insulin and be more prepared for the overload of the 100g test. However, many doctors do not instruct their patients on this at all, and some even forget to tell the patient to fast ahead of time. In addition, even those who tell their patients to carbo-load do not give consistent advice. Some give a specific diet to follow, specifying exactly how many extra carbs to eat and when (usually >150g–10 servings or more–of carbs per day; remember that carbs in this case includes all starches, fruits, sweets, and dairy products). On the other hand, other doctors just tell the woman to eat a few extra servings of carbs 1-2 days before the test. Be sure to press your doctor for more details on this and question your care closely if the doctor seems careless in attitude.

For a week or so I have been having these weird head pains in the back right side of my head. It feels like a sprain if you were to move your neck to fast around. It goes almost as fast as it comes, and is extremely painful. I can be moving around, or sitting still when it hits. And its not any kind of headache, it really doesn’t seem to match any description I have read thus far. If anyone has any idea please let me know.

I was overlooking my box of Clartin and noticed it said "if allergic reaction occurs seek medical attention". My question how can you be allergic to medicine that suppose to fight against allergic reactions. No Im not allergic to it, but I was just curious.

The ones, I believe, that you get in the fall and will carry through for the year before you have to get them again.

I’ve been having really sharp back pain for about a week and a half, my period has been off because of my on and off birth control use, just wondering how soon into pregnancy anyone has experienced back pain..I havn’t had my period in about 3 weeks btw

I just switched birth controls from Yaz to LoSEASONIQUE, I took the new birth control (LoSEASONIQUE) for the first time on Monday and then forgot to take it last night (Tuesday) and all day today (Wednesday) I have been having horrible lower back and abdominal pain, as well as being extra moody, any correlation? should I keep taking it? and just take 2 tonight or stop all together?

My lower back hurts very bad when I walk. When I sit down by tail bone area starts to hurt. What could this be from? I was planning on going to the chiropractor soon. What can I do to help ease my pain until I go in? I need to do walking around and running and stuff which is really hard to do with pain like this. Any help would be great!

When I run for about 10 or so minutes my upper back (in between my shoulder blades) begin to hurt. After when i stopped running and i breath deeply it begins to hurt also. How do i fix this?

I used to sleep on a friends couch (for a year) but recently got my own place and went back to sleeping in a bed. Every morning i wake up with back pain, its not just lower back pain either - middle back and sometimes shoulders too.

Its not a new mattress.

I am overweight (but have started taking regular exercise), however have not hurt my back/shoulders recently at all.

I never have this pain when I sleep on the couch
